Do you have any favorite scenes in Cost of Freedom?

I would have to say I really liked the scenes that were innermixed with something that as factual. I also loved the scenes at the apple orchard. They had a very soothing quality to them, despite Grace and Abigail's talk of throwing the apples when they get aggravated.

That is so good to know.

The scenes that combined fact and fiction were difficult. I wanted to stay true, as much as I could, to the factual character's personality, yet make them fit in the scene. This did help me decide who would be in the scene and who wouldn't.

The apple scenes, I'm glad you liked those. With all that takes place in the book, I felt there needed to be a few places for the reader to rest.

I have to agree with Cale I like the Orchard and the prison sceneit's graphic. But means so much to the historics of the characters involved.

Hi Carol. I finally finished Cost of freedom. And now I'm disappointed because it took me so long to finish it being on my computer that when I got to the end I wanted more as it finished to soon Exclamation

I really enjoyed it. The prison scene with Candace was very good. Although graphic it was important to the story. You have left me hungry for the sequel and I cant wait for the print copy so I can curl up with my re-read (a bit difficult to do with the computer lol).

The other scene I really emjoyed was Abigail and William's two weddings the indian one and the private one. They were both well written I did like how you had her drink from Williams cup knowing she didnt know what she was doing. I realised what was happening and liked the fact that you had her fight it once she realised what had happened without just falling into his arms so to speak as a lot of writers would have done.

I'm so glad you liked it. Oh the prison scene...yes, poor Candace. What I loved was, even though Candace knew what the outcome would be, she controlled as much of the scene as she could and then came back with a huge punch in the aftermath. Now there's a character who was full of surprises.

I expect my editor's edits for Bound by Honor any day. Let me tell you, Cost of Freedom barely scratched the surface compared to what the Jacksons face next. I'll look and see if I can find an excerpt to post for you.

Yeah, Candace was such an awesome character. About the control she would have, she was quick to adapt, and take what she couldn't control and use it to her advantage, thus always putting her a couple of steps in front of everyone else. SPOILER: I loved her secrets, and her plots; it was so refreshing to have someone scheming and plotting that is a good person. It's usually the villian of the story, and although Candace kept you guessing, all her manipulations were for the better "good" of all. I say "good" because although I don't agree with everything the british did, I find it hard to believe they were all "bad."

Candace revealed herself to me an inch at a time. I had no idea all of this was part of her. I'm glad I listened.

I can't tell how many times I would write a scene, look at it, and say, "Are you kidding me? Really?"
