I really enjoy a genuine connection from the very first meeting between the hero and heroine. Not the obvious kind, but the one where the reader sees it even though the characters don't. And I absolutely love it when the mc's discover their feelings for each other early in the book. _________________ Carol

I like the connection early on as well even if the characters don't know it yet. I like dialogue between the characters as they discover their love. Dialogue is extremely important to me when I read a book. What I really dislike is graphic sex scenes between characters. I don't think it is necessary. Call me a prude. I don't need to know every detail. I think the reader can imagine their own details. Just enough to entice the reader but not so much that one feels like they are reading a porn book. _________________ Don't cry if you have lost the sun. The tears won't permit you to see the stars. |

I agree with everything Jeanne said ...although I do like Stephanie Laurens who is pretty graphic in the sex department... I prefer less detail and more flowery language.
I love the stories when the men realize their love before the women do. Most stories tend to be about the women convincing the man and when it is the other way around it is so refreshing. I think that is one of the things that I like about Stephanie Laurens novels...the guys are usually not looking for love but usually discover it first and are trying to convince the women rather than the other way around. |

| I like sex scenes that are more sensual, as in the way he kisses the column of her neck, what's running through his mind when she carresses his back, the feel of their bodies touching, and less of the actual penetration. It's what I refer to as soap opera sex. Because on TV they can't show the actual act, but they show the kissing, caressing, etc. |

| I think it's the opposite for me, I like denied connection and discovery, also in a heroine I like the tough outer with the classic vuneralbility that has to be uncovered. Cale got the sensual scenes right. I like the ' lifting his hand and running it down the curve of her waist marvelling at it tenderness and softness to the touch, the hitch of her breath and the sigh of her surrender...' that sort of thing! |

Wow Andi,
I hope that was a sample of what you're working on in your book. Nice. _________________ Carol

Pray tell Andrea, and what game is that???? I always thought you a good writer along with Cale and Delia. I was hoping to see what else you three would write in the book in progress on the KEW site but it was not to be. _________________ Don't cry if you have lost the sun. Would you like to see some crummy poems I wrote. I did these sitting on the pot. That is where they should probably end up though. Flushed down the toilet!!!!! _________________ Don't cry if you have lost the sun. The tears won't permit you to see the stars. |

Too afraid to show anyone and some of the poetry is just too dark for most people anyways. James wrote a sonnet yesterday about how to understand a girl's mind for a school project. I read him some of mine. He liked them but we got a laugh out of one of them because I didn't know how to finish the poem and put some nonsense at the end. Oddly enough, I wrote a poem about the guy in the book the Stranger about a month ago before Andrea mentioned the Rein of Terror. You know, the cutting off of heads lead me to think of this book. That poem is extremely dark. One would have to have read the book for sure to even have a clue of what it means. But James liked that one best of all. I'm afraid my poetry is short and simple. _________________ Don't cry if you have lost the sun. The tears won't permit you to see the stars. |
