Thank you everyone for your kind words.

Jeanne, I think that you have stage fright. When its spontaneous, and nobody expects you to come up with something, you have fabulous imagnation. But as soon as you're called upon, you lose your nerve. I think it might be just confidence.

Ya think Delia!!!! I have stage fright for sure!!! I have failed at everything in my life or least believe it so. I have always been afraid of failure so I never go for anything. I am truly the chicken when it comes to many things. I can't fathom the idea of getting my head chopped off in a literal sense. I had some ideas for poems yesterday but I didn't write them down and now I've forgotten. In my heart they were beautiful though. But that is just my heart. I was thinking of David Copperfield and when that lady (can't remember her name now) ran off with Steerforth, and how the family kept a candle in the window in case she returned. And I think it was her uncle that went searching for her. Its been a while since I read this book so I can't remember all the details but yesterday in my head, I had all these ideas about that and I was making a poem in my head about this incident. But she was found though and Steerforth got what was coming to him. But my focus was on the light in this house and the part about hope I guess. I don't know.

See.....you've got it. Keep either a notebook or a tape recorder with you at all times and then when you get that inspiration, use it. Just follow your heart.

Jeanne you are so like a friend of mine she always puts her self down and often reads the wrong thing into what her family have said and done. They do try to over protecter which makes her feel excluded rather than protected. You like her need to look for the positives. You should try telling yourself something nice about yourself everyday.

Heres one to start

You are a great friend. Even though we are seperated by thousands of miles I know I have a special friend and am enriched to have you in my life. Smile

Thanks Brony, that is nice to know that I have friends. Really though, I like myself. I don't consider anything I say about myself as putting myself down. I'm just stating the facts. I am what I am and I'm okay with it. I used to not be okay with it but I am now. Just because I fear failure or feel that I have failed in a lot of things doesn't mean I don't like myself. I accept me for what I am. Tony used to call me "Miss Dark Cloud" lol, and I suppose I am at times but I used to say to him because he was always so bright about things, that he was in a state of denial about how life really is. I guess maybe I look at life a little differently than a lot of people but that is me and I like myself, for sure!

The captain had assembled the crew on the deck of the Audacity. He walked back and forth in front of them with his hands clasped behind his back. “Crew, there is a slight change in plans. When we depart in 8 days, there will be two additional passengers on board. My wife and daughter will be joining us for this voyage; therefore one more cabin will need to be prepared. Also, Pierre will need to be made aware of the situation, so he can plan accordingly. I don’t think I need to tell any of you how I expect you to conduct yourselves in their presence. But in case anyone has had a lapse in memory, I will explain. When we reach shore, you may seek your diversions as you wish, but they are not to be brought onto the ship while Madame Palmer and my daughter are on board. You will treat both of them as the ladies that they are; there will be no cursing or otherwise bawdy behavior in their presence and upon their arrival on deck, they will be greeted with the utmost respect. Have I made myself clear?”
The crew responded with a resounding “Aye, sir.”
“Don’t fear, however. They will be instructed to spend a great deal of time below deck, so that in the mornings, mainly, the deck will be yours.”
A grateful nod waved through the crowd of men before he said “That will be all.” They began to disperse to their various duties. “Edward, come here please.”
Edward looked up at the summons and came forward. “Yes sir.”
“Please go down to the galley and inform Pierre of the plan change. If I am needed, I shall be in my office.”
“Yes sir.” Ryan watched the man that would very soon captain the Audacity. In the next couple of years, Ryan was going to begin thinking about retirement. Matthew was not nearly ready for that responsibility, but Edward certainly was. He was Ryan’s most reliable crewmember and most faithful friend off the ship. He had begun to worry about him in the past few years. He had become more serious than he had in his youth. He had always been one to liberally indulge in the women the region had to offer when they put into port somewhere. Not so in the last three years. When the rest of the crew would go and seek their pleasures, Edward was very often the only one left on the ship besides Ryan, who never indulged. If he did leave briefly for food or drink, he would usually return in a short time and always alone. He had begun to wonder if there was a particular lady that had caught his attention, but every time he broached the subject, Edward didn’t wish to discuss it. He wished the best for him. He was a good, solid man and any woman would do well to have him as a husband. He shook his head, and turned his attention to more pressing duties.
