The period in England leading up to the Civil War and up to the Glorious Revolution and even into the reign of Queen Anne is a must read for me.

I became fascinated with that era because I was brought up in London and remanants of those days are everywhere you look, from carvings and statues of men in long coats and curly wigs, to the architecture of Christopher Wren. It has a feel about it you get nowhere else in the world.

Naturally when I tried my hand at writing, this is the period I went for and I'm still amazed at how much I still have to learn about it.
