I am currently in a marathon read-fest. I decided to read as much as possible before I write the next book. I have listened to chatter of favorites, checked websites, grilled customers at Barnes and Noble. Yes, I really did this--more than once. They were very nice and even enjoyed sharing with me...once they realized I wouldn't go away.
So, I'll wait until I have devoured a few more authors before making my list. And I know if I hear a glowing recommendation from any of you, I'll swing by the bookstore on my way home from work. _________________ Carol

I'm currently reading COF albeit slowly. Thinking of starting again Come Love a Stranger by KEW. Also want to pick up again on the Bastion Books by Stephanie Laurens. I have many books to start but just can't quite get into them right now so I play games on the computer. _________________ Don't cry if you have lost the sun. Well there is obviously this C.Spradling..........
Love Elizabeth Chadwick, Philippa Gregory is fab (she e-mailed me too!) KEW is the Queen of H.R. Catherine Anderson, Lorretta Chase, there is a bit of a pattern here Most of the more recent genres seem to be American Authors? Apart from KEW?
Any way the list is long!! |

Am now reading 'Fried Green Tomatoes' Fannie Flagg. Did you know she was in Grease?
I've been meaning to read it for years but never got round to it, I also picked up 'Cloud Atlas' by David Mitchell. |

Yes Jeanne it explains more about Evelyn's life and her loneliness before meeting Mrs Threadgood. It's really a beautiful book. The author also wrote the screen play for the film, so you kind of get the stills from the film in your head as your reading. I think that's why the picture was so good, you got exactly what Fannie Flagg meant for you to see. |

| It was never expressly said, but I choose to believe they did. That's what was so great about the story. They never said. It was up to you to decide. |

I've never read the book, nor scene the movie.
I'm currently reading The Mavericks by Leigh Greenwood. This is the first book by him I've read. He's a guy that writes romance, mostly in the old west but few are other places. He was once (might still be) President of the RWA, and very popular. I found out about him and wanted to read what his writing was like, get a little inspired. |

I think they barbecued the guy because they never found his body and they said they were going to have a barbecue even though it wasn't the time of the year the usually did it. (I think) and when that guy said that this was the best barbecue he ever had. Idgy had that look on her face. I know they barbecued him. No question in my mind!!!! I really liked Jessica Tandy in this movie and Kathy Bates. I just read on Wikipedia that the book is somewhat different than the movie. It didn't mention the barbecue thing but something else. _________________ Don't cry if you have lost the sun. The tears won't permit you to see the stars. |

Hi Angela!
It's great to see you. I hope you'll be able to start on your tbr pile soon. I recently started on mine and have since allowed it to overtake my life. What a way to go!
Take a look around the forum and enjoy yourself. I hope to see you again. _________________ Carol
