What is your favorite line from a book? List the line with the title and the author.

"How could anyone be so witless as to let themselves be sold for money?"

Your mind is my treasure, and if it were broken, it would be my treasure still: if you raved, my arms should confine you, and not a strait waistcoat--your grasp, even in fury, would have a charm for me: if you flew at me as wildly as that woman did this morning, I should receive you in an embrace, at least as fond as it would be restrictive.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

This is really hard. I think it would have to be from Raymond E fiest That Magician.

' Who are you?' 'I am Thomas. I am what you will become.@

You'd have to read it fort the impact.

Apart from that I LOVE Romeo and Juliet:

Is love a tender thing? it is too rough,
Too rude, too boisterous, and it pricks like thorn.

Thy lips are warm.

I love this line in Romeo and Juliet. I think this the line. I was watching Leonardo di Caprio in some version of this yesterday. I don't think that I like this version of Romeo and Juliet. Anyone seen it? Just didn't make sense to speak like they did then with a bunch of modern, nutty people running around. I only watched about 5 minutes of it. Anyone like this version.

My kids did this version for school. I made them sit and watch th olivia Hessy version they cried! Got the impact I wanted (I still cry everytime I watch it!)

That a favorite of mine too Jeanne gets me everytime Confused :

What's here? Poison, I see, hath been his timeless end.
O churl! Drunk all, and left no friendly drop to help me after!
I will kiss thy lips.
Haply some poison yet doth hang on them to make me die with a restorative. Thy lips are warm. Oh, no, no!

Crying or Very sad

Andrea, here is the final scene in that movie. I watched it last week. When Olivia says, Thy lips are warm, it is so moving. I just cry every time I see it.

Yes, it is!!! I just watched this part again.

"All are punished"

And the music so pretty. I love the song for this movie as well. After seeing this movie and loving it for years, the one with Leonardo di Caprio was just awful I couldn't watch. I would have liked to have seen him do it the right way with not modern stuff. But I don't think that any other version can ever compare to this one with Olivia Hussey!!!

Interesting how many are from Kathleen E Woodiwiss.

Ashes in the Wind

I've always loved the scene when the Darveys come to dinner...

Smiling prettily, she leaned her elbow on the table and crooned with honeyed sweetness dripping from an exaggerated, deep southern drawl. "You thick-witted Yankee, if you ever put me in the same class with Roberta again, I'll light into you so hard, you'll think the wh-o-o-ole Confederate Army marched over you, mules, wagons, and all."

I love Alaina's temper, she certainly had that "Southern Pride" as we say here in the states.
