Happy, witty, smart people.
If you could go back in time to witness some historic event, which event would you choose? _________________ Don't cry if you have lost the sun. The tears won't permit you to see the stars. |

I can't think of an event persay, but the artist in me would love to be Renaissance Italy/France.
Same question, I like this one and want to know about others. |

This is a great question and like Cale, I'd like to see what everyone's thoughts are.
It would have to be the night of the Boston Tea Party. I have sat in the meeting hall where it was decided to throw the tea overboard. It took my breath away. With so many options, it was hard to pinpoint one event, but this was one occurrence that was bloodless. Their point was made and not one gun was fired in doing so.
Of course, to know who actually fired the shot heard round the world would ease curiosity.
Same question. _________________ Carol

There are so many for me!
The first would be to have been at Nelsons side when he was in the midst of the battle of trafalgar and the second would have been in the room when Napoleon was dying, was he really poisoned? |

I guess there are many for me too. But I think I would have liked to have witnessed Lincoln and the Gettysburg Address. Another one would have been with Thomas Jefferson and the times spent alone writing the Declaration of Independence. I would also have liked to have been on the moon when they landed there for the first time or any of the times they went there. To see the earth from this vantage point would have been glorious. (Also would have been fun to run on the moon and feel somewhat that you were flying) _________________ Don't cry if you have lost the sun. The tears won't permit you to see the stars. |

Hey Cale, I went to the art museum here last weekend to see the mummy display which was pretty cool. Also saw the art that they had. I really enjoyed the art. I don't know that much about art but there was some really good paintings in there. There was a Van Gogh, a few Gauguin, Michael Angelo and even a Rembrandt. I remember the Rembrandt. It was a a self-portrait. I really liked the portraits of people. Some paintings were so neat that I just stood there and looked at them. I would get real close to them then walk away and look from that vantage point. I remember one portrait of this young lady with this beautiful dress on. From far away it looked as if she had shiney parts to her dress but when you got up close, it was just white paint. Amazing. I sure would like to go again. I think that I would like to go to the Louvre or some place cool like that. Ever been there??? _________________ Don't cry if you have lost the sun. The tears won't permit you to see the stars. |

| No I've never been to the Louvre, but I have a couple of books about it. In high school, every year the art league would raise money, and take a charter bus to Chicago, go out to eat, shop, see a musical, and hit a museum. My senior year we went to the Art Institute of Chicago, and I got to see some of my favorite paintings (nighthawks-love that one!). Last summer while in New York, I got to go to the Met, it was ok, but I like the Art Institute better. I was told I'd want to take a few days to devote to the Louvre, I can't imagine all the stuff they have there. |

I think my brother went to the Art Institute in Chicago. He lives in Seattle and came to visit to take my mom to the Brazilian Consulate there. He said there was a painting that he couldn't take his eyes off of. He's a big art fan. When I went to Chicago, I went to the Field Museum. And of course, I've been to Museum of Science and Industry. My dad took us there. In New York, I also went to the Field Museum. I think that I would like to maybe go to this art museum in Chicago. It is perhaps a dream that can be attained maybe. Just have to find someone to take me because there is no way in hell am I going to drive there. I'm thinking myself pathetic today. I do these silly paint by numbers and they are just trash compared to the paintings I saw. I even framed them from frames I bought at a garage sale. Am I a loser or what!!! I guess one can laugh at themselves, can't I? Any body like to come to my art show with my paint by numbers. I'm painting a ship now and after that will paint a Van Gogh!!!! Ha ha!!!! _________________ Don't cry if you have lost the sun. The tears won't permit you to see the stars. |
